Tambo Colorado pre-Columbian ruins
Tambo Colorado pre-Columbian ruins

In the Pisco river valley, on the outskirts of Humay, is one of the best-preserved pre-Columbian coastal ruins in Peru.

Tambo Colorado was totally made of adobe.

It was a residence, an administration centre and the Inca Pachacutec’s palace.

The ruins comprise four groups of buildings: the Inca palace, the Temple of the Sun, a trapezoid shaped platform and the Pallasca Valley (can’t be visited, it seems to be a military observatory).
